This past Saturday I went to the Grand Opening of Tendrils and Curls. I arrived a little after noon. I was told there was a line before the doors even opened at 10a. So you know people were thrilled about Houston’s 1st Natural Hair Boutique opening. When I walked in it was already jam packed. Everyone was talking, shopping and having a good time. Of course, I took lots of pictures. So many in fact, I had to make a video because there is no way I could put 80+ pictures in one blog post. I also was able to interview Paula the owner of Tendrils and Curls and in her own words she tells us how Tendrils and Curls came about.

OMG!!! The cupcakes were so good. Yes I got the name of the bakery. We all know I have a sweet tooth and couldn’t resist another one. I only ate two, I promise. You have been following my eating habits via the blog and I am doing my best to stick with them.

I rocked henna, my new natural shirt and big ‘fro.

They also had a lady who provided henna for all the people who came through. I truly like mine. It was my first experience with henna. Yes, I was nervous because I am so clumsy I didn’t want to get one and mess it up. But little did I know the henna comes off but the design stays. She is very talented. I think almost everyone sat in the chair to get henna somewhere on their arm, hand or ankle,

The best part of the day was the positive energy that stayed throughout the day. Everyone came in with smiles and enthusiasm. People helped out others if they had questions and many new connections were definitely made. It is always refreshing to be in a place where every woman there only brought positive attitudes with them. I had the esteem pleasure of speaking with practically everyone who came through. We all know I’m a chatty person so that wasn’t a stretch for me.

If you are looking for natural hair care products from an owner who actually knows about the products she carries, stop by Tendrils and Curls and do some shopping. I know I’m going back.

This video shows all the beautiful natural beauties I was able to get pictures of at the Grand Opening.

This video is the interview with Paula in her own words about Tendrils and Curls.
