My look for the evening.

So this past weekend was the 1st Annual Gamechanger Gala. Yes you read that right. First annual. This is an on-going endeavor to help support nonprofits and the community. It was a lot of planning to introduce a new nonprofit based in Arlington to the Houston market in order for them to donate. I was pleased by that. Any chance a nonprofit gets the opportunity to get their message out is valuable. So enough about that. What happened at the gala?

Well I was surprised by the out-pour of donations from across the country. These donors will not know how touched the Founder is. I even had 2 cousins fly in from Georgia for the event. That was a blessing since I have seen them for several years. My family here and one of my closest friends not only showed up but helped before, during and after the gala as well.

I gave a speech expressing why I started the Gamechanger Gala and was overcome by emotion. I know I’m passionate about helping youth but I cried through most of my speech. Other attendees gave speeches on what Women Are Gamechangers or myself has done to support them or motivate them. All were extremely touching.

I was able to connect with new ladies who came to support some of the ladies I invited. So that was refreshing to have new faces at an event. The art gallery that was the venue was perfect space for us to move around and get acquainted. Even my 3 nephews enjoyed themselves and everyone enjoyed them ♥

Overall, I was pleased with the turn out, the donations collected and especially the positive energy that filled the space. I can’t wait until next year’s gala. Save the Date September 14, 2013. More information will be announced throughout the months leading up to the 2nd Annual Gamechanger Fundraising Gala.

I would like to Thank the sponsors who made this possible.
