Lovin’ London 2012 Winning Women.
Okay so I’ve been watching the Olympics on and off since the Opening Ceremonies (mostly ON) on Friday July 27th and have planned to see at least the Finals in like EVERY Single Sport! Okay so I’ve been plotting my “COUCH-DAYZ” for the next 17-21 days since the last Olympics in 2008 and needless to say Most everything is going as planned and I’ve seen at least every person/team play so far and almost Every Interview! So here’s my little list (so far) of Awesome Athletes that have inspired me to be the best athlete I can be as of July 30th2012!!!
Ø Archery::: These three women (Miranda Leek, Khatuna Lorig, and Jennifer Nichols) not only have family who are involved in the sport or are also archers themselves but are beautiful and are ones to not only watch but watch out for, their skills are crazy!
Ø Basketball::: {TEAM USA}::: Ahhhhhhh (as I yell at home) after every shot, block, pass, free throw, and rebound went by I rooted for my Team USA basketball ladies to take it to the hoop. The best of the best are on this team and am very proud to know that that’s who is playing for America!! You Go Ladies!!!
Ø Fencing::: { Lee Kiefer who is only 18 years old, soon-to-be Notre Dame freshman was a favorite and hoped to go home with the gold did just as everyone expect and then some! The best part is she wants her best days to come (not now-but future) which is so great for someone so young not to get discouraged but motivated to get better and better!
Ø Gymnastics:::{THE FAB FIVE}:::{ Alexandra Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Jordyn Weiber, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross} All I can say is kudos to these beautiful young ladies, they had me on the edge of my seat, clapping and cheering from my computer chair each and every time they were up to perform. Jordyn didn’t quite make it to the all-around however she has inspired so many young girls to Never give up and give it their all for what they believe in and where they want to be in life! GO TEAM USA!
Ø Shooting::: Jamie (Beyerle) Gray whose husband is a part of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit has really done great and I’m sure has an awesome support system built up between her and her husband, also her team-mate Kimberly Rhode who became the first U.S. athlete to win an individual medal in five straight Olympics has done yet another outstanding job!!
Ø Soccer:::{TEAM USA}::: I can only look in awe at how my girls Alex Morgan, Abby Wambach, Hope Solo and the rest of this phenomenal team as they gracefully run like 12 hundred miles a game (well maybe not that many but they “Just Keep Going & Going…”). I don’t think I could ever do soccer just because after like my fifth mile (back/forth) I’d get dizzy and just sit in the middle of the field!!
Ø Swimming::: Missy Franklin, Dana Vollmer, Elizabeth Beisel and all of TEAM USA Swimmers were just stunning in their events and am very happy for each and every one of them! As well as our outstanding synchronized divers (Abigail Johnson & Kelci Bryant) who won Silver after Americas dry spell in not winning for both men and women in any diving event in like forever.
Ø Volley Ball::: {TEAM USA}::: I watched them play against both China and Brazil and WOW they impress me every time they have the ball in their possession. The ladies are something to admire!
Now these are not all the ladies nor am I highlighting them like I want but this is just a brief list of whose done what and how great our Olympic team really is and how great they are doing so far!!
I CAN’T WAIT until the rest of the ladies debut their skills and grace London with their Blessed abilities, and as you might have assumed I’ll have another list, article and info on more ladies from the Olympics in London!!
ALSO For the first time, women will compete in all 26 sports, including boxing at London 2012!!!!!
Hope you all get to enjoy at least your favorite sport/person in this year’s Olympics!!
STAY BLESSED and ASPIRE TO BE INSPIRIED!!
