I have really enjoyed the magnificent athletes in the Olympics!!! So with that being said I have decided that I will NOT address any of the negativity that comes along with ignorance and jealousy that has displayed over the last few days to week and a half…Why?? Because I’m LOVIN LONDON 2012 and I don’t care for all the DRAMA that gets so easily stirred up!!!
Okay so here is this week’s Line-Up of Women-Who-Inspire Me:
* Sanya Richards-Ross=She earned her much deserved gold in the 400m run in track and field with a beautiful finish!! I think I stood up after the 1st 100 and didn’t sit down until I (I mean she) got done WINNING!!
* Kristin Armstrong= Cycling individual time trial gold medalist! I only bike for leisure but it would be nice to be able to bring home a gold medal from something most people do for leisure! She’s great!
* Shannon Vreeland and Natalie Coughlin= Shannon is the 4×200-meter relay gold medalist and Natalie is the 4×100-meter freestyle relay bronze medalist! All I can say is You Go Girls! Hope to see them both in Brazil in four years!
*Gabby Douglas=With endorsements, Gold medals and the whole world cheering her on, this beautiful young and very talented athlete has a great future ahead of her! Her beautiful spirit shines through her smile and her hard work and determination has been proven by her performances!!
* Alexandra Raisman= Women’s team all-around gold medalist she was so graceful and has a great future ahead of her!
* McKayla Maroney= Getting a gold with the team and a silver from her vault on day 9 of the Olympics has not only inspired me to think of myself as a champion but to not accept defeat (I don’t think she was unsportsmanlike at all – I believe she already has it set in her heart to overcome and dominate like the awesome athlete she is. I can’t wait to see this young lady in Brazil!!!
* Marti Malloy and Kayla Harrison= Harrison won the 78kg gold medal in judo and Malloy won the -57kg bronze medal. WOW!! These are some butt kicking ladies!! Mad props to these two in such a challenging sport!
*Misty May-Treanor & Kerri Walsh Jennings= Awe man I was jumping up and down in the living room watching these two dynamic women perform, it was something to see-they do it time and time again! If you have a little one at the house who’s interested in volleyball I’d definitely look at these women’s technique and just all around athleticism on and off the ‘sand’!!
*Rebecca Soni= She has won two golds and a silver medal, setting a world record in the 4×100-meter relay!! Can we say triple-threat!!
* Lia Neal= 4×100-meter freestyle relay bronze medalist this young athlete has proven herself to be quite a future threat! She’s so inspirational, this Brooklyn native swimmer is one to watch!!
* Rowing Women’s Eight gold medalists= Esther Lofgren, Caryn Davies, Eleanor Logan, Zsuzsanna Francia and Taylor Ritzel, Meghan Musnicki, Erin Cafaro, Mary Whipple and Caroline Lind, these ladies were so brilliant. I watched every stroke all the way to the Gold!!
* Kelci Bryant and Abigail Johnston = Synchronized diving silver medalists, b-e-a-utiful dives that got these two their silver medal!! So proud of all they’ve done to get to where they are!
* Caitlin Leverenz= 200-meter individual medley bronze medalist, wow, she seems to be a great athlete all around, would love to see more of her as the years go on!!
*The Williams Sisters= When I was playing tennis in high school I always looked at Serena and Venus as great role models in the sport! LOL I even said if I get good I’m gonna change my last name to Williams so I can be a ‘sister’ and WIN like a Champion!! Also the sisters founded the Venus and Serena Williams Tutorial and Tennis Academy in Los Angeles for inner-city children, how neat is that?!
Just think about How They Become so Dynamic in Their Sports and the great feats that these ladies have had to go through to get to this point over the past four years (or MORE). I’m so pleased with the women who have made our TEAM USA 2012 SO AWESOME, they have represented the Country Wonderfully!!!
