In the spirit of Valentine’s day, do you think of your connections as people to show love to? By that I mean do you go above and beyond to continually show them how important they are to you and why you want to keep them in your network?

love your connections

We often don’t. Many times we grab a card and may or may not stay in contact with that person. If we do, it’s usually to get something from them. How would you feel if people constantly did that to you? I know personally, many of “those” people did not make it to 2013 with me.

I let them go. They showed me no love. Now, on the other hand, I try to go out of my way to show the strong connections I have made “love.” If there’s a lead I know is perfect for them, I pass it along. I refer them when necessary. I support their business in anyway I can so people know I’m not just giving lip service. I want the businesses in my network to be as successful if not more than Women Are Gamechangers.

These ladies also return the favor. This type of relationship we have is why you should show love to your connections. Being an entrepreneur is not an easy journey. It’s often frustrating just navigating the initial paperwork and business plan. But your network is where the ease comes in. They can open doors, introduce you to people and refer you.

None of that would be possible though if you don’t love your connections. It’s just like any relationship. You have to give to get.

What do you do to show your connections “love”?
