Are you guilty of this? I know I have been in the past. I always want to let people know what’s going on. But sometimes, it’s best to keep things to myself especially when the details are still being worked on. I’ve announced many things in the past only for them to not happen. I didn’t want that to happen with the bootcamp. That’s a whole other post. Literally. Read about it.
Anyway, I have learned to keep big things to myself. Now I did announce Fusion Tour repeatedly. I don’t feel like I should keep that a secret. Why? I needed to find collaborators and since I’ve hosted this event in the past, I know people will attend.
But back to you. Social media is a great tool. It really is. That’s how we all met. But it’s not the place to give detail by detail description of your company’s progress. It’s ok to keep you trap shut during the development phase.
I know my trap is shut while I work on a few things for Women Are Gamechangers right now. I’ll announce more when it’s the right time. Until then I’m keeping my trap shut.
I strongly advise you to be cautious when sharing details about your business. If you notice people copying you or throwing shade, then keep you trap shut. It’ll save you a headache later. I’ve had my fair share of headaches to deal with.
