I first met Carla at another event. The first time I tasted her cake pops I was hooked. Then I had her cheesecake. Well let’s say the rest is history. I refuse to buy my desserts from anyone else. Even my nephews get excited when they see Carla’s desserts in my house, lol. They are kid-tested and kid-approved! I’m so excited for all that Carla is doing with Cheesecake a la Mode. She came to the very first Fusion and we’ve stayed in touch ever since. Carla has used the knowledge she has learned from Women Are Gamechangers to create the type of business she has always dreamed of. I’m so proud of all that she has accomplished since we’ve first met and all that she will accomplish in the future.

Houston prepare yourself. This business will definitely be one to watch over the next few years as it continues to grow and blossom. If you follow me online, then you know I’m always raving about these desserts. I refuse to promote something I haven’t had first hand experience with and know in my heart is a good product or service. This one definitely is. {Read more about my favorite dessert boutique from Carla herself.}

There is a saying that I keep in my mind… I cheated on my fears, broke up with my doubts; got engaged to my faith and now I’m marrying my dreams. I’ve always known I was Boss material, but I had a terrible time finding my niche. After years of soul -searching I still hadn’t found “it”, but I knew I wanted to leave a legacy for my family and be a positive female role-model, like those that raised and influenced me. Finally, I realized it had been there all along. Coming from a family of great cooks and marrying into one, I had food critics all around me. Family dinners and work pot-lucks, I always made brownies or cheesecakes (something I’ve done since I was a child) and each time the compliments and recipe requests were abound. During family gatherings whole cheesecakes would disappear (family had packed and hid them to take home).

Co-workers would complain that their cheesecakes weren’t coming out like mine and they offered to pay me. Seeing the delight and curiosity on the faces of my friends and family when they tasted my cheesecake was and still is, rewarding for me. That’s how Cheesecake a La Mode came to be “a” love of mine, family is always first. Doing what I do makes me happy and is rewarding… I have opportunities to create new and delectable sweets. Cheesecakes are so versatile it’s like starting with a blank slate, adding this flavor or that spice, but just like a good book, I can’t wait to see how it turns out! If I love it, I know my client will too. 1 Corinthians 13:13,’ and now abideth these 3 things, Faith, hope & love, and the greatest of these is love’; the principle that grows Cheesecake a La Mode and guides my life.
